  • EZ Test for Ecstasy

for Ecstasy, Amphetamines, 2C-B and others

EZ Test Marquis was the first test for Ecstasy ever to come onto the market and should still serve as your primary test kit. As a rule of thumb that you should use when testing for the presence of ecstasy (MDMA, MDA, MDE): if it doesn’t turn black, throw it back!

Besides being able to test for Ecstasy, EZ Test Marquis will show different colors for (meth) Amphetamines, 2C-B, 2C-C, 2C-I, DOB, DOI, DXM, Methylone, Butylone, Naphyrone, Opiates and many other substances.  This test will NOT show a color change when in contact with mCPP and other piperazines and PMA/PMMA. Detailed instructions and a color chart  are included in the package.

  • EZ Test for Cocaine Identification

    for Cocaine and Crack Cocaine

EZ Test Scott can be used to test for the presence of cocaine and crack cocaine. Strangely enough, the reagent also shows a reaction when in contact with MDPV and 5-MeO-MiPT, which are structurally totally different from eachother. Weird, huh?

We still have to find an explanation for this, but hey, it works! So we included the results in the color chart.

Police warn over 'fatal pink ecstasy' with AMT or 5-IT

Pink ecstacy tabletThe tablets have a cherry logo on one side and a half score on the other

Scotland's largest police force has issued a warning about pink-coloured tablets being sold as ecstasy which contain "potentially fatal substances".

Strathclyde Police said anyone taking the pills, which contain AMT or 5-IT, could suffer increased heart rate, elevated core temperature and seizures.

The force said the tablets have been described as having a cherry logo on one side and a half score on the other.

AMT or 5-IT are not classed as controlled substances.

Supt Kirk Kinnell said: "These substances are unreliable, unpredictable and very dangerous.

      'Devastating effect'

"Users may believe that they have taken ecstasy, and it is very likely that they will suffer from a significant negative reaction."

“Most cases experience a life-threatening rise in body temperature and extremely fast heart rate and can display a range of bizarre behaviours as well as being extremely confused”

Supt Kinnell said the pills were "not covered by any form of quality control".

"Users need to be aware of the dangers and understand the potentially devastating effect these pills can have on their health," he said.

"We are continuing to take this matter extremely seriously and extensive police inquiries are ongoing to establish the source of these drugs and every effort is being made to track down and arrest those responsible for selling these drugs as quickly as possible."

Strathclyde Police said additional patrols had been deployed in Glasgow city centre to carry out searches at a number of venues connected to the inquiry.

It comes after nine people were admitted to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning after taking a combination of tablets and powders in Glasgow city centre.

The force advised that revellers, particularly over the festive period, should avoid taking the pink tablets and notify police if they were being sold.

Glasgow Royal Infirmary emergency medicine doctor Richard Stevenson said AMT and 5-IT had "been implicated in deaths in Europe".

He said: "Early assessment and intervention is paramount to prevent fatalities. There is also a real risk of interaction with commonly prescribed medications, as well as an interaction with alcohol, that may be fatal.

"Most cases experience a life-threatening rise in body temperature and extremely fast heart rate and can display a range of bizarre behaviours as well as being extremely confused.

"The body will overheat and there will be signs of delirium and agitation. Without immediate medical treatment this collection of symptoms could prove fatal."

'Pink ecstasy' drugs warning issued in north Wales

Police have issued a warning about a potentially fatal drug dubbed "pink ecstasy" after samples were seized in a raid in Bangor, Gwynedd.

The pills are said to look like pink ecstasy tablets but contain the potentially fatal amphetamine paramethoxyamphetamine or PMA.

Detectives said drug users may be encouraged to take more than usual because the pills act more slowly.

North Wales Police said a man from Merseyside was arrested on Friday.

The raid on Friday evening in Bangor, Gwynedd, was prompted by investigations by Merseyside Police.

The warning put out by detectives said the suspect drugs usually have the letter "M" on them, although the initial may vary.

The drug is also known as "Dr Death" or "Pink McDonald's".

Anyone who is offered one of the tablets is urged not to take it and to call North Wales Police.

North Wales Police Insp Dewi Jones said: "We are concerned that the drug may be being distributed in the Gwynedd area.

"We are working with hospitals, ambulance staff and pubs and clubs to highlight the dangers."

Police said a man in his 20s has been released on bail pending inquiries.

    • Pure Ecstasy Is Safe, Canadian Doctor Says, But Don't Buy 'E' On The Street

As far as recreational drugs that could have health benefits go, ecstasy doesn't exactly have a lot of champions. Instead, the drug, so often associated with raves, has been fingered as responsible for fatal overdosesdepression and problems in fetal development.

So it comes as a bit of a surprise that the chief health officer of British Columbia said today that ecstasy, or MDMA, is safe for consumption and may not have negative long-term health effects. But the official, Dr. Perry Kendall, who gave interviews to several Canadian media outlets, wants to be clear about one thing: There is a big difference between pure ecstasy and the stuff that gets cut with other chemicals and makes up the vast majority of what's sold on the street.

In other words, don't go running out onto the street in search of "E."

"Unless you are getting it from a psychiatrist in a legitimate clinical trial, at the present time, you can't guarantee what's in it, how much there is, or its safety, so I would say, as we have said in the past: Don't take it," Kendall told CBC News.

As you might have inferred, ecstasy is indeed being given to volunteers in clinical settings. For that matter, so is ketamine, a club drug also known as "Special K" that's shown promise in treating severe depression, as NPR's Jon Hamilton has reported.

Still, it's hard to imagine an American health official making such a pronouncement. But Canada has long had a more lenient attitude toward drugs. Vancouver's city council is currently debating marijuana decriminalization; advocates for decriminalization say the illegal drug trade fuels violence in the city.

Kendall told media outlets that if ecstasy were legalized, it would also take control out of the hands of criminals and give the government the chance to regulate the trade.

"[If] you knew what a safe dosage was, you might be able to buy ecstasy like you could buy alcohol from a government-regulated store," Kendall told Canada's National Post in an interview.

Kendall isn't the first health expert to defend the safety of pure MDMA.

Michael Mithoefer, an associate clinical professor of surgery at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, uses MDMA to treat post-traumatic stress disorder. "There's quite a bit of phase one safety data from studies in the United States and Europe, using doses [of pure MDMA] similar to the ones we're using under medical supervision ... that have shown that [the drug] can be safely administered in that kind of situation," Mithoefer told Tell Me More's Michel Martin in 2007.

And as we've reported, David Nichols, a Purdue University pharmacologist, has also looked at various pharmacological uses for ecstasy. He began his research in the 1980s, before anyone had even heard of it.

    • UK police issue Party drug warning as E pills killed two men

mdma05Cops issued a stark warning to revellers after the deaths prompted fears of a spiked batch of the party drugs.

A man in his 20s died in Peterborough, Cambs, on Thursday afternoon. Another — also in his 20s — died at 4am yesterday in Huntingdon. Both had taken one of the tablets.

The deaths are not being treated as suspicious, but a police search of the properties where the men collapsed sparked the warning.

Det Insp Jon McAdam, of Cambridgeshire Police, said: “While we have to await results of further tests to ascertain exactly how these men died, it appears they may be linked to the use of drugs.

“I would urge people to be extra vigilant and not to take any illegal substances, in particular ecstasy-type pills because they could have grave consequences.

“There is no knowing what such pills contain and what effects they may cause.”

It comes after the similar death of a man in Bournemouth, Dorset, last month.
